THE LEFT HAND OF LAZARUS

Lazarus had an incurable desease....
It led to his death....


the word of the LORD that came to Joel the prophet was succint

in chapter 1 versus 1-4
Joel talks about an invasion... an invasion in the land
an invasion of locust...a plague

Just as there has been an invasion....an invasion of viruses
the HIV AIDS viruses....a plague

versus 5 talks thus

" wake up you drunkards..."
many times it is drunkards, who due to their loose behaviour occassioned by making decisions under the influence of strong drink realize they are invaded....

versus 6-7 speak of the nature and impact of the invasion.....
* the invader has teeth of a lion
* the invader has fangs of a lioness
* the invader has LAID WASTE their vines
* the invader has RUINED their fig trees
* the invader has STRIPPED of their bark

AND just like the HIV virus ...it has the same characteristics

teeth of a lion
fangs of a lioness
laid waste/ruined/stripped, the functional immune system

and verus 8-12 speaks of grief

*Mourn like a virgin in sackcloth grieving for the husband of her youth.
*Despair you farmers
*wail you vine growers
*grieve for the wheat and barley
*surely thejoy of mankind is withered away

The farmers and vine growers grieve because their crop has been invaded by a plague

The victime of the HIV virus grieves because his body has been invaded by a plague

verses 13-14 calls for repentance

in sackcloth
in mourning
in in crying out to God for mercy
and in fasting....


in Chapter 2 vv 6-11 further describes the nature of the virus

*it is a large and mighty army
*before them is a land like the garden of eden,
*behind them is a desert waste-
*nothing escapes them.
*they plunge through defences without breaking rank
*they rush upon the city, they run along the wall
*they climb into the houses; like thieves they enter through the windows.
*the LORD thunders at the head of his army;
*HIS forces are beyond number!!!!!!!!!!


these are the characteristics of the HIV AIDS virus, and just like the locust they are unstoppable....and the reason for this plague is sin!!!!!!!!!!

chapter 2:12-17 talks of repentance

* "Return to ME says the LORD;
* "With fasting weeping and mourning;
* "rend your hearts" Says the LORD
* " Return to the LORD your GOD

AND THE FINAL VERSES TALK OF RESTORATION...HALLEHLUHYA!!!!!

* I will drive the north army (of viruses) far from you...
* Pushing it into parched and barren land...
* Surely he has done great things
* Be glad O people of Zion
* Rejoice in the LORD your GOD
* for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness

HE SAYS

* I WILL RESTORE THE YEARS THE (HIV VIRUS ) HAS EATEN...
* THE GREAT (VIRUS), THE YOUNG (VIRUS) AND OTHER (STRAINS OF THE VIRUS)

MY GREAT ARMY THAT I SENT AMONG YOU

all this speaking of healing...the promise is fulfilled
